You can ride with that thing in any condition. Mine's been in rain, dust storms, tons of salty sweat, cola spills....no problems. I love my etrex 20.

Mine is difficult to get out of the standard mount too. I'm just glad because the vista HCX mount I had would eject the GPS every time you turned your back on it. I'll take too hard over too easy every time.

WHS, how do you like exploring with the GPS? I really like the tracks feature since you can never get lost as long as you have batteries.

My Garmin is a much older unit. Etrex Legend C I believe. I know it inside and out so I haven't been to excited about upgrading it. It sounds like the Etrex 20 is a pretty nice unit.

Just remember to tether it on. The problem with some of the bike specific gps's like the 350 is that people would crash in a race, get up quickly, and ride off not noticing that the gps wasn't in the mount. No matter how strong you think your mount is, use a foot or so of cord to tether it to your bike.

Good job on finding a fix that did not require buying something new. Dremels are pretty cool tools. I never though to tether my GPS but it sure makes sense. Thanks to those that suggested it. I need to look over my older model for the best way to tether.
