I'm in the market for one & need one that fits a Clydesdale, I'm 6' 5" 260# & most of the XXL's I've tried won't work! Can't remember which brands I've tried but it seems most of them are "athletic cut" & I'M NOT, any ideas? I did try a First Ascent not long ago, it's OUT but I like the more affordable price of them, I'm sure I'll need at least an XXL or XXXL in a men's tall as most sleeves are to short on the standard sized ones to

Depending on how you define affordable, PHD are the way to go

(arguably) the best down clothing anywhere, can either use their custom jacket designer or send them an email and they'll be able to sort you out.

Costco has an 800 fill jacket which comes in xxl and costs $70.

There's a thread on it with more info over at Backpackinglight.

Montbell has their U.L.Tec jacket in XXL on sale as well.

Their customer service people are quite knowledgable so give them a call.

LL Bean?
Their Ultralight down jacket now has 850 fill Dry treated down, and comes in an tall XXL, I also found them to be a fairly roomy fit a few years back when I tried it on.
Patagonia tends to run bigger and roomier than Montbell I'd say, and you can find them in lot's of places to try on.
Similar to the PHD, in the 'price is not a big deal' category, Nunatak reportedly fits roomy and does custom sizes.

thanks for the info, i was able to try on a Marmot, North Face, Mt Hardware & Patagonia this past weekend & the Patagonia was PERFECT...except for price! Going to look into that LL Bean one or see what kind of sale price I can score on the Patagonia later this winter or early spring
