Riding the Divide (most of it) this summer and wonder what are best maps to get other than the ACA maps.  I am planning on BLM and forestry service maps, should I purchase as I go or all the maps for my ride at once?  Want to limit getting lost as much as possible.

I use Benchmark Atlases in Montana and Idaho (http://www.benchmarkmaps.com/). With pages torn out or copied from them, a gps, and our maps, you should be good to go. Sometimes you can get ahold of maps from smaller companies, such as Beartooth Publishing (http://beartoothpublishing.com/) or Trails Illustrated (http://www.natgeomaps.com/trailsillustrated.html), but their range is usually fairly limited.

Buy the A C A maps. Send them home after you ide a section and sell them off afterwards. I think they are the best for the divide. They are made for it after all. Enjoy your trip. Harry
