for those that have used MSR Dromlite or Dromedary, is there an option to use a hydration hose? or are these just storage bags with a fancy screw on top?

I didn't care much for their accessory hose. If you get their 3 liter one it comes with the hose built in and then the lid is the standard one. I already had a Camel Bak bladder so that gave me the 6 liter capacity I wanted.

Tim - Thanks. I see in some reviews that others didn't like the bite valve much either. Not too worried about the valve or hose though. I can swap those out. What I couldn't seem to find was how a hose would even attach. Now I see the accessery screw on hose deal-e-o and have formulated a plan.

I ended up with a Camel brand shutoff and bite valve on mine. The nice thing with MSR is lid is the same as nalgene bottles I have the hyperflow pump that came with a lid kit as well.

I think I'm going to try the 4l one in my frame bag too. I tried a 3l CB one at the weekend and there was still plenty of room in the top compartment once I got it in there. Trying to fit a full 4l might be a very tight squeeze through the zip though.

You can always put 3.75 in it, if you are filtering through the hose just fill as much as the bag will take. My frame bag is smaller I can only get about 2 in mine the camel style lid takes up some space as well. I like having room for one bottle so I can have drink mixes, not a fan of mixes in the bladders.

Another option if you don't think a bottle to work is this... http://www.rei.com/product/797975I actually prefer it to use as a "mix drink only". It's lighter and slips easily in and out of my frame bag or pack. Just a thought. |

We got a 10L and really appreciated the extra capacity, and the shower attachment. Turns out hanging it from a tree in the sun at makes a nice rinse off shower option. The hydration hose? Meh... we used the cap valve to fill our bike bottles.
