I started different thread the other day, asking general questions, but got no answer specific to On-one frames.  Has any one used their frames for touring/bikepacking?  Specifically the Inbred.  If so, how well does it work when loaded and what components did you use?

Thanks

You might check over on forums.mtbr.com.  They seem to be well-regarded over there, though the focus is on day rides, not bikepacking.  Something to check out, since it doesn't seem like you are getting much feedback on them here.

I ride On-one's. Started with an aluminium scandal 29er which I raced the Tour Divide with and many thousands of miles more before that. I was really sad to see that it arrived damaged after the flight over back from the US last summer. Bike rode lovely with or without bags on it. I rode it rigid during a lot of my training and added sus forks for the race, bike handled pretty well both ways. I'm no geometry expert but I'd say they've got it pretty dialed in.
The airline insurance money was used to buy a myself a steel 29er inbred with the swapout dropouts. I've used that bike for a couple of thousand more miles but only singlespeed. Did a few multi-day rides with bags on it and it handles just like the Scandall which I think had an identical geometry.
The scandal had no rack mounts, the inbred does. The latest inbred models come with only 1 waterbottle mount which I think sucks. They might also have a different geo but I'm not sure. Like those frames, especially for the price you can sometimes buy them for.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the scandal was equipped with SLX 9-speed components, BB7 mechanical brakes, specialized saddle, Rock Shox Recon gold fork or On-One carbon rigid fork,... As you can see, nothing fancy but never had any problem with any of those components.
On the Inbred, I run all the same gear except that I run a surly singlespeed chainring, surly singlespeed cog and an 8 speed chain.

Thanks.  I think I will get an Inbred 29er since they are so cheap right now and every opinion I've heard is that they're sturdy, good bikes.

I also have to agree also about the On One frames, for the price they can't be beat. ( I have one of the 1st generation models also)

I purchased one about 7-8 months ago to build up to replace my old bikepacking bike. But as I was waiting for all of the new parts to come in, I stumbled ac cross my dream bikepacking bike (lynskey ti ridgeline 29er) for a VERY good price. As it stands now I have a large inbread 29er in a box unused that I need to sell - for a good price

My version has swap drops, rack mounts and 2 water Bottle mounts

Email me if interested: dweyer at bellsouth.net

Get one you will enjoy it

i've owned a few inbreds, and think they are great frames. IMO they pack  weight fairly well ,no better or worse then any other frame i've used .

Until I got my Fargo my On-One 456 was my go to bikepacking ride, the great thing about them is that for a fairly hardcore hardtail (it's running 150mm Revs now) it still has rack mounts.

Here it is with 130mm Revs, bags and a fair covering of sheep shit:

Enough kit there for 3 cold and wet days in Wales, with very little detriment to handling and general fun.
