I dream of doing the TD one day and was thinking to myself what one album would be fitting for the journey. So I thought I'd ask others what they would listen to.
I have plenty of artists I like, but for the TD it would have to be The album Beyond by Dinosaur Junior
Tell me yours!

I think Tea for the Tillerman and or the soundtrack to Harold and Maude by Cat Stevens would be perfect - Miles from nowhere I guess I'll take my time Oh yeah, to reach there
Look up at the mountain I have to climb Oh yeah, to reach there. I'd also consider something like Heartless Bastards, All This Time, as the first song, Into the Open, is perfect: And I find myself Here in the meadow Of a great divide And in the moment
Things are coming into focus Things are coming into focus I've got wind in my face And it's getting me on I've got wind in my face And it's getting me on, on
All of this time I was searching Searching for my home And I discovered Home is where I am Either that or something like Daft Punk's Homework, or the Tour de France Soundtracks by Kraftwerk. Made a little mix last year of some of my favorite songs for GDMBR riding

I listened to Bob Seger a lot.. is that bad?! Fire Inside, Roll Away, Against the Wind.. seemed fitting. I even sang along sometimes.

Columbia Country Classics. Volume 1 The Golden Age. It has "Back in the Saddle Again" by Gene Autry "Pistol Packin' Mama" by Al Dexter and his Troopers and don't forget... "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" by Patsy Montana, in which she does some amazing yodeling and mentions the Great Divide! I know it is a compilation and so may not fit the album requirement, however it has some great riding music. Some people (such as my husband) might ride faster just so they could stop listening to it.

Are two disc/record/cassette sets cheating? If not, my "one" album would be The Beastie Boys Anthology... close runner-up would be One From the Vault from the Grateful Dead.

Argh only one? I think I would have to toss a coin to decide between: Sigur Ros - (_) Godspeed You Black Emperor - Lift your skinny fists... or NIN - The Downward Spiral In reality I would take my little Sandisc 8Gb with the 32Gb microSD card....full of tunes and audio books
