Hope's singlespeed hub comes with a shorter freehub body made of steel. It also spaces the flanges out wider for a (near) dishless wheel. It also has different pawls and is even louder than the standard Hope.

There are a lot of good options out there, my favorite is King, mine have a few thousand miles with no issues.  DT, Hope, Hadly, White Industries, are all a quality hub, Phil Wood makes an extremely durable hub as well but it is a little heavy.

As with most things, buy from a reputable company, maintain it and it will last a long time.
