If I were, in theory, to own a Jamis Exile III, how could I set it up for super ultralight touring. A seat pack, handlebar pack, but that frame sucks for touring. Can't get a proper frame pack in there... Dragon looks better, but I can only afford a Sport.

Looking for a new bike for GDMBR, and or CT still. Wanna go super mega ultralight. no panniers, limited backpack, probably hydration+snacks only. I can get a screamin' deal on an Exile III, or a Dragon Sport. That is why I ask.

Thanks!

You could probably attach a 2 small pre made frame bags like a Revelate Mt Tangle or a Jandd Frame bag (3O% off right now) One in the frame's triangle and another above the top tube and to the seat post. If you are going ultra light weight you probably don't need a frame bag; a seat bag and handlebar set up should suffice.

I would think a full revelate set up with seat/frame/bar bags with extra pouch, and a gas tank should suffice for a serious UL effort. Anything more and the bike might start leaning towards the heavy side.
