pouch for a phone

Ive been searching for a good pouch for my phone to attach to my backpack strap. There are a quite few out there and I'm curious to see how others have attached their phones to their back packs.

Previously I've had it on the handle bars but getting off to open gates provides the perfect opportunity to get grumpy at pulling out ear buds and snagging wires. This has not been optimal.

Ideally it needs to be big enough for a large smart phone and little else, not bounce around while riding, easy access with gloves on.

There are a few online that look like they would do the job but offer very little in detail on sizing or photos of attachment points.

I'm after your thoughts and experiences, what works or what has failed.

I chose another solution - bluetooth earphones. No cords.

I have a Camelbak phone pouch that attaches to one of the straps.  It works very good and is secure.  You might look there.

Gossamer gear makes a couple - I have one for my iPhone that I use on an osprey talon.
