Hey folks --

Think that I am going to get the backrollers -- but wondering about the Classic v. Plus?
I've read the differences of them here:  http://www.thetouringstore.com/ORTLIEB/Ort%20101/ORT%20101%20PAGE.htm

But wondering if the plus is worth the money -- seems that the big difference material and the anti-theft device on the plus (QL-2 top hooks).

Is it worth the money for the plus?
Thoughts?

I'd wait until the Arkel Dri-Lites are back in stock, if you can handle light/fast gear that's not featured to the hilt.

You have to know the adjustable mounting and removal features built into Ortleib bags weigh a ton. And what do they do while on tour? Nothing, unless you like taking your bags off for some reason. I just modded my front and rear bikepackers and got the weight down to half of original. They're not removable from the racks now; there's your anti-theft device. And I'm adding a hrz compression strap like the Plus.

Weight aside, I think Ortleibs are great. But tourists are wising up to modern materials and construction. That's why the Dri-Lites weight 14 oz/pr, compared to four+ pounds for a pair of Bike Packers. And the former costs less than half the latter.

FWIW. Cheers...
