I'm looking for suggestions on great packable spinning rods.  Anyone like to fish during a bikepacking trip?

I've seen small spinner rods as short as 18" but they seemed gimmicky...imo.
I've been considering one of these instead...

My 4 piece 9'6" 4 wt fly rod straps nicely to the top tube.  No reason that a spinning rod wouldn't ride nicely there too.  Just pick one that breaks down into short enough sections to work with your bike and gear.

For spinning, I use a sierra gt 8000 7'6" 4 pc by quarrow but i just googled it and couldn't find one for sale. Walmart sells some telescoping lightweight spinning rods or you could use a 2 piece kids rod or even a stiffer ice fishing rod if you wanted something super compact.
If you really want to fish aggressively, I would buy a 4 piece short, L or ML action, Ugly stick or the like from cabelas, bass pro, walmart etc.
When I'm on the bike, I just pack my tenkara rod or the spinner (or both) in my backpack.

I have a cheap little packable spin rod I bought from my local Canadian tire. The rod packs into a Thomson seat post bag and then the reel goes into another small bag. I put a few spoons in a small plastic container and it's good to go. Mine is a six-piece rod but similar kit to these telescoping ones:

I've used an ultralight shakespeare spinning rod for years.  Light, compact and fun to fish with for stream trout.  Unless you're going for bigger fish then you may want something heavier.  Price is hard to argue with.

I've used the Eagle Claw 4 piece rod on trips into te Flattops Wilderness and caught a 7 lb. Rainbow with it. I have used it at Yellowstone and in The Great Lakes on everything from panfish to Walleyes. And the folks at Eagle Claw stood behind it and replaced a broken section with a complete new rod .
