I have run Mavic UST rims in the past. The last few years I have run Stan's and Specialized/Roval tubeless rims. Mostly with Specialized tires and Stan's, also a Bontrager and several Schwalbe tires.
Yes, the Stan's has to be replaced regularly, also make sure to pour with the bottle upside down, so you get the fibers, not just the liquid.
WTB and Geax UST tires do not fit(or very tight) on Stan's rims. Specialized and Schwalbe tires have ranged from loose to crazy tight for me, but all sealed well.
I carry a spare tube or two, Park pre-glued patch kit and. Mini pump with a hose and gauge (Lezyne alloy M with replacement gauge hose).
That is some excellent info Slim, thanks.
==================================
Has anyone ever done a weight comparison between tube, tubeless and all the support items required?
I attempted tubeless when it first came out.
Buying Mavic UST rims, SB8 tubeless tires, had to make my own stans since is was not a commercial product back then.
Accessories I carried were sidewall patch kit, spare tube, rag to wipe out stans, 3 tiretools to break bead/remove tire, CO2 to assist
with resealing tire to rim, high volume hand pump, 3 liquid oz bottle of stans, spare presta tubeless air valve and cap.
When I weighed everything it was actually more than running std thickness tubes with 2 liquid ozs of slime. Maybe things have changed?
