contemplating adding it to the kit...

No first-hand experience (thankfully), but I carry 2 in my kit. However, the owner of a local bike shop has a wheel with a damaged hub that he can't put a spoke into, so he just installed a fiberfix spoke. Apparently he has ridden it for years without any issues. These are commuting miles, but still. For me, it seems a no-brainer to add to the kit. If I am riding far from bike shops, I want a way to repair a spoke. The options then are to carry a few standard spokes, a cassette tool and a wrench for the cassette tool (assumes you can use your bike/chain as a chain whip) or a couple fiberfix spokes. From a weight and ease of replacement, I will go with a fiberfix and get a real spoke at the next shop.

I carry one as well, but I've never used it. A buddy of mine used one through, and it was great.

I've used my fiberfix once. Broke a spoke on the rear wheel, drive side. Fiberfix was quick and easy to set up and worked well for the rest of the day until I could get to a bike shop.
Highly recommended.

These things are most excellent. We had a bad crash on the first day of a 4 day trip...bad in the sense that my friend mangled his rim right before we got to camp. Walked the rest of the day, then first thing in the morning found a broken spoke. Fiberfix and an hour later we continued on our way. It held up just fine for the rest of the trip. I love these things.
Don't forget a tire boot too (in case sidewall rips). In a pinch, a dollar is a most excellent tire boot.
