Here is the place. The amount of knowledge that is shared is the best. People here have been there and done that. So ask away!

Much of the general outdoor stuff can be had from places like your local mountain shop, REI, or Backcountry.com.  Backpackinglight.com sells a lot of the more esoteric, super-weight weenie stuff, and is a great resource for lightweight backpacking info.  The backbone of most modern bikepacking, the bags, can only be had from Epic Designs, CDW, or your own mind and hands.

For general stuff Campmore.com has a good selection of tarps, ponchos and the like, here in Tucson I like Millers Trading Post/Army Surplus for a lot of similar stuff especially string.

www.Craigslist.org is a great site for used gear.
I'm a big fan of not paying full price for gear.

As others have said....most of the gear can be had at a good mountain store. I think probably my Carousel bags are the most specialized piece of gear that I have. Good luck.

You don't have your location filled in. That makes it a bit hard to suggest a store. Which country are you in, and if it is large what region?

Sierra trading post and campmore are some other online shops that can be worthwhile for low prices. I like Granite Gear (not just because they are locall ;-) they have a webshop too I believe. Integral Designs has one. Patagonia has a sale section on their webshop and REI has REIoutlet.com. If you're up in my neck of the woods, come visit midwestmountaineering in Minneapolis, they are a great shop.

There is an REI in San Diego that is the best! I miss that store since I transfered duty stations.
