Hi! I recently bought a Specialized Epic Hardtail 2021 with the RockShox Judy Gold.
I was planning to make a bikepacking expedition soon and wanted to replace the fork with a rigid one.
I'm trying to decide between:
Niner Rdo Boost MTB Carbon fork (AC height 490mm Rake 51mm Axle 15x110mm) 521?
Trek 1120 Carbon Fork (AC height 510mm Rake 51mm Axle 15x110mm) 315?
Cinq Adventure Carbon MTB Fork (AC height 495mm Rake 51mm Axle 15x110mm) 600?
Which one would you think would suit better to the geometry of the Epic? Do you advice a different one?
I'm towards the trek for its price, but not sure about de 510mm ac..
Thanks in advance!

I'm using a Chisel frame and use a Travlers Pronghorn fork with a AC 485mm, it also have triple mounts on too.

I would stay away from the longer forks, you just don't need that length / it will jack up the front far too much. On a rigid you can get away with less AC length as peddle strikes are just not going to happen.

Specialized website lists the s-works as having a 506mm axle to crown when uncompressed.

So if 100mm fork and 20% sag, then you'd want 486mm to maintain OEM geometry when seated on the bike ... right?

I switched out my rockhopper 29 in the same way, but went $100 Chinese fork. I went for 502mm (I think), which was a mistake. I should have gotten a 485-490mm fork, but I didn't know better. The front end just doesn't feel quite right, but it still acceptable enough for me not to want to replace it. I'm also missing fork bosses for anything cage mounts (as I'm not prepared to hose clamp cages onto hollow carbon fork legs).

Bikepacking has a list of all the forks, and you could search that pretty quickly for a 485-495mm fork with bosses. I think they're generally more than I expected, but then the Enve fork was way cheaper than I expected.

I found with a fixed length fork its best to go for the shorter option, especially for bikepacking where we'er not doing super tech stuff and a lower frontal area helps with head winds and weighting the steering.  If the ride is going to be on harder ground I swap back to a 100mm suspension fork but on the great divide a rigid fork was fine.

Having looked at lots of options I found the Travellers Pronghorn to be the best option = length, triple mounts and cost.
