Just got a new carbon fiber frame and would like to know what other owners of carbon fiber frame do regarding placing frame bags on the carbon fiber frame.  Do most owners not bother or are there special precautions to be taken?
Thanks for the info  Jacques

Buy some frame protection tape. And wrap contact points. Revelate sells a good one

You can buy sheets of protective clear coat at most moto shops.  It is thick enough and tough enough to protect frame from scratches, scuffs and minor rock hits.

Thanks for the info

On another topic do you have any favorite 2-3 day loops that you care to share.  I live in So Orange county and ride in the San Diego county area a fair amount.  About 4-5 years back I scouted out the Sea to Sea trail to about HWY 67(?), that would be an interesting route if it was completed.  Just a thought

Most of my bike packs are not in San diego.  Mt Laguna/Cuyamaca/Julian could be done, Anza Borrego in winter, or connecting a bunch of trails/areas together.  There are decent connections but also lots of issues with private property.  Mostly for bikepacking I ride out of town - Big Bear, Arizona, etc are great.
