I am riding the 250 route starting October 11.  I'm in Northern Colorado where we don't have much cactii so I just run Performance light tubes here with no problems.

Should I get ready for cactus needles?  I could sure load up some tubes with Stans or Slime if it would be worthwhile.

And I don't need to hear about the benefits of tubeless (Kurt)!

Thanks

Tim

For sure you will want stans or slime in your tubes and your spare tubes.  Hope it cools down for you.

Verde Valley Forecast

I was going to do the ride but some other stuff came up...

Yep I wouldn't ride anywhere in AZ with out some kind of sealant.

Also not a bad idea to have something to patch a sidewall.

While this is not the thorniest or rockiest course it's best to be prepared

I am not a big fan of tubeless either but I am a big fan of Stan's in a tube. I know it does build up as it dries out. But it will fix small sidewall punctures that Slime can't.

Enjoy your ride it's a great course.

If that forecast doesn't change by about 20 degrees we'll be going elsewhere.  A guy from Fairbanks is coming down to do it and that will kill him.

Thanks for the info.

Tucson's 7 day forecast ended with lower temps.

AZ is known for not having a fall at some point we will stop complaining about the heat and start whining about the cold.

Things are definitely cooling off a little even if the highs still look too high it is taking longer to get up there and the mornings are really nice.

Also we got some rain down here looked like they did up north also. Hopefully the Lime Kiln trail will still have some moisture in it and not be all loose like last year.

There are some minor changes I will be making to the GPX. Nothing that would really get you lost, just a few sections that have changed.

I'll be leaving here (Fort Collins) on Sunday.  I have the current CLR GPX file on the GPS.  When will you have it updated?

The weather looks a lot better so we are planning on starting Monday afternoon-ish.

Changes, changes when can we hope to see these changes.

Steve and I are planning on heading up thursday for the race and we would want to at least try to do the right course.

Just sayin.

Weather has taken quite the turn in the last two days super nice here in Tucson as well as rain.

I am really hoping for a nicely packed Lime Kiln trail for this weekend.
