Riding in the snow

So Thursday I went out riding for 2.5 hours or so and it was pretty awesome. Very windy and definitely some drifting/blowing snow. Unfortunately I took a nice fall and actually ended up laughing it off even though I felt I had messed myself up good. Anyways, an overcompensating turn along with a nice 25 mph wind made me fall but I found to be more worried about the non packed drifting snow. So...when do you decide not to go out and ride when its snowing per the kind of snow, not the temp, wind or anything else.
I live in NW Indiana and it has been snowing all day but because there is no wind and its the nice and fluffy snow, I plan to head out.
