Hello! I've had an interest in bikepacking ever since I started backpacking years ago, and I think it's finally time to bite the bullet and get a bike for it. Currently my only bike is a Soma Saga for road touring. It's great, but very much like a Long Haul Trucker (slow and heavy). I have used it for light gravel roads, but with just 38mm tires it can get a little tedious.
The geometry is great and I love the brand, so I've been looking at a few Soma options: the Wolverine and the B-side. I'm leaning toward the Wolvie because I like drop bars and the look of it, but I haven't heard a peep about it on here. Is there something I'm missing that would make it less than ideal for bikepacking? It can fit up to 2.1" tires, possibly 2.2 depending on the brand, and honestly both of those seem like they would be adequate for my needs.
Has anyone had any hands-on with it that could offer an opinion?
