I hate buying shoes.. 2 different sized feet by a full size, extremely particular, please help with suggestions based on info below and or experience. Interested in what people have used in the AZT, CTR and like events within recent years. Thanks in advance!

Uses:
*General everyday riding in British Columbia, North Van and Squamish. Technical with Hike a bike every ride.
*General Bikepacking from few day trips in the Chilcotins (lots of hiking) to month long international touring on a 29er.
*Bikepack Racing: AZT and CTR

Particulars:
*NO Laces (speed laces ok)
*NO Boa
*PROPER ratcheting top strap (No loop through velcro), bottoms can be speed laces or velcro (preferred)
*Stable for walking - No narrow bottomed XC shoes (previous ankle injuries)
*NO Specialized... (because specialized)
*NOT switching to flats, was a Trials rider and BMXer my whole life.

History:
*Shimano M86 - delaminated soles at cleats from hiking.
*Giro Privateer - Too narrow/stiff for hiking. Grip sucks on wet rocks and roots. Bottom narrow/not stable at heel end. Can't get cleats far back enough for my preference.
*Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro IV's - Excellent shoes (if you get a good pair, I've had 3 pairs go back within the first ride). Last about a year (once I got solid ones) Great fit, stability, durability and protection. Hard to get here and finicky when I've only had 40% success rate.

Options?:
*Mavic Crossmax ?? Anyone here use them? they look promising
*Shimano M200 ?? Read numerous reviews and reports on soles delaminating and buckle failure within months. Not acceptable for top end shoe.
*Giro Terraduro ?? Seen failure in person with sole delaminating after limited use. Basically a privateer with a more walkable sole?

Anything else?
Thanks!

Shimano M200. Had them 2 years, hike most rides, multiple multi day bikepacking trips/ races in NZ & (incl tour of Scottish Highlands - the ultimate test) guide in them so tend to wear them for 12hrs days on regular basis. I would guess 200+ days use.

Soles have been great, some minor delam around toe box but shoe goo fixed that. Buying second pair now. Snug it for average foot. Giro Terraduros are too narrow for me. Mavics too wide.

Thanks Tanadog,
I was able to try out some M200's and Terraduro's at a shop yesterday. Still trying to track down some Crossmax's to try in person. Appreciate the feedback, sounds like you rate the 200's.
Cheers.
