Even with toe covers, my cotton Hanes crew socks aren't cutting it on these early morning rides now that we're getting into colder temperatures. Anyone have any favorite cold weather socks? Looking for specific brands/styles that you like.

First, cotton....never! It's the worst material for sport as it retains moisture, holds bacteria and as you've noticed, doesn't keep you warm.
My favorite, wool almost anything but best of all Sock Wool socks. Another option if you'll be getting wet is the Seal Skin Merino socks.

Can't beat Darn Tough socks. Price is similar or slightly higher than other brands but they have a lifetime warranty. If you can wear them out you get a new pair. No catch, check their website. Awesome warm comfortable soft socks. Lots of options. Originally found them when shopping for ski socks, now they are the only socks I will wear.

I've always been a Swiftwick wearer, but I'm tired of wearing out the soles of these expensive socks. I'm going to try out Darn Tough. Looks promising. Sadly, I have easily $200 worth of wool socks, over half of which have some significant wearing along the sole or achilles area.
I like nice socks.
