I've been trying to find a pair of gloves that I like for long rides. I just spent big bucks on a pair of Fox gel gloves and the velcro at the wrist closure separated after about 5 rides. Anyone find gloves that perform well and last long? Half finger or full finger...I go both ways!
Thanks!

I've used Dakine Ventilators the last few years, they work for me. I just replaced a pair last week after about 2 years. I like really thin gloves with very minimal padding and these fit the bill. The older ones had no padding, the new ones have a bit. I crash when I ride and the old ones held up well, we'll see how the new ones fair. http://ca.dakine.com/p/bike/gloves/guys/ventilator

I'm glad you got some good gloves for $5 but...not really helpful if I'm looking to buy a pair unless you have a brand or at least provide directions to that truck stop ;}.

I've used 661 Raji gloves for years, and love them. They're not the most durable, but I've gotten two years worth out of the current ones I have. They're like the Dakines mentioned earlier. Thin material, no real padding, but reinforced in a few spots, and one of the things i like the most is the material on the outside of the thumb area. Perfect for wiping sweat from your brow. Have been great for me for a long time. I love the minimal feel of them, especially for the warm months.

Home Depot work gloves ...$10, very minimal padding in palm, and they last!

Pearl Izumi gloves seem to last pretty much forever. I've never had a pair come apart at the stitching, nor wear though anywhere. They even put up with getting washed once a week or so.

You could likely find some kind of mechanic glove at most all truck stops there about the same as the Home Depot gloves.
I usually shell out for what ever $20 fox gloves full finger they usually last a year or so.

I like plain leather gloves, but work gloves work well also.
