I'm a newbie to using a re-chargeable light, I have the Nightrider Minewt & have found that it fouls up my Sigma Sport computer while it's on the dim setting, however I flip it to the bright setting & it starts working again. What happens is the mph locks up wherever it's at & the odometer quits, flip it to bright & it works fine. I tried moving the battery to the opposite side of the bars rather than on the stem & it makes no difference.

My neighbor just got a new Cygolite & it makes his computer stop all together, any ideas?

Some of the electronics controlling the LEDs can foul wireless computers... I have a German made light that makes my VDO MC+1 useless.

Unless those are wired...  Wink

Have you tried moving them around and see if distance affects the issue?

I had the same problem. I'm sure that there are lights out there that don't cause interference, but I took the easy route and bought a wired computer.

My wireless sigma computer stops working as soon as I turn my GPS on! When I turn off the GPS, the computer starts working again! Weird thing is, it only happens on 1 setup. I run the same model/make computer on another bike and don't have the problem. Electronics are weird.  icon_scratch
My solution was to switch to the cheapest computer with cable.

Which one do you have?  I have Sigma BC 1200 wireless systems on both my hardtail and dual and have never had an issue with any other electronics.  It does have some sort of circuitry in it that is supposed to eliminate interference issues.  Major reason why I decided to buy them.

Before these, I had a Performance wireless setup that would stop working every now and then at stop lights/intersections!

Computer is the most impotent invention of modern science and technology. Now a days we con not move a single moment without it. If we learn more about it, we can develop our self very quickly. So we should good use to it.

What a strange coincidence:

Got an email saying there was a new reply to this thread.  Well, there isn't anything new.

However, I was actually going to get on and add something to this thread today.

I went out and finally tried out the GoPro camera today on a road ride.  Reset the bike computer, turned on the camera, started recording and off I went.  Got about a quarter-mile from the house and noticed the computer was not working.  Stopped and checked things and nothing.  So, stopped recording video and now the computer works.  Started recording again and Continued on the ride.  A little while later, saw that the computer had stopped.  Stopped recording while riding and now the computer works again.  Start recording again and the computer stops.  Had the camera directly above the stem, near the computer.  Moved it to the left side, next to my big ring shifter and still had the same problem.

So, got some video, but no valid ride data for the day.  Guess I'll have to see if this thing causes problems with the GPS unit.

The notification occurred because the "bretlee007" posted a Spam message. This is happening more often on bikepacking.net these days, and it sure is annoying.

On the subject of wireless computers, I think that they tend to be extremely sensitive to interference. Lights and gizmos were always killing mine, so I moved back to a wired one. Much more reliable, and I don't really mind the cord as much as I used to.
