I ride with a DeLorme and love it. I would not use it for a GPS although it probably is quite capable. It has bluetooth capabilities which allows me to use my smart phone to read and write messages for sending.

I also ride with a Garmin eTrex 30x and have at least one other GPS device, either my cell phone or a Nexus 7 tablet, with me. If I am out investigating new trails and USFS roads here in the Appalachians, the Nexus table gives me a much larger screen to view PDF maps and the like.

Anyone have the Garmin GPS 64 series?

and how do you feel about it
I don't have the GPS64 series, but I do have a Garmin GPSmap 62s, which is the same basic shape and design. I like the controls on it a lot better than the eTrex 30, with everything laid out nicely on the front. The two downsides are the size (it is a bit large and clunky on the handlebars) and the screen resolution (half the pixels of the eTrex 30). But I have used the 62s on the bike and liked it -- so if you already have one, it is certainly trail worthy.
