Hey all, I have a Steripen Adventurer that I bought earlier this year. I used it once and it worked. Now though it doesn't want to stay on or finish the purification process. I changed the batteries; twice, still no luck. Any thoughts?

They are a nuisance at times.  Sometimes the gasket prevents the lid from securing properly.  This can be adjusted in the field.  Discount batteries maynot work, or work only one time.  More expensive premium batteries may work for a while.   I switched to a gravity filter.  Without moving parts the filter doesn't fail in the field.

My Steripen Adventurer has been intermittent as well. It's always worked--eventually--but restarting is a PITA and a little disconcerting. Thanks for the reality check, guys.

I had issues with mine for a while.  I was using rechargeable batteries.  As I was prepping for the CTR, I changed to lithium ion batteries, and it worked fine.  8 days without problems.  No clue why the rechargeable batteries weren't working consistently, but new batteries solved that.
