Hi All,
New to the bikepacking scene & I had a questions regarding the stock wheels on my Surly Ogre. It came with Alex Adventurer Rims and Shimano Deore Hubs. I plan on using this bike mainly for exploring logging roads, some singletrack and some overnight trips. I am wondering if the stock rims are pretty solid. Does anyone ride these wheelset, or have thoughts on those parts? From my understanding these rim cannot be used tubeless, even with sealant/tape, or is that incorrect?
I would like to explore the option of building up a TCS wheelset for tubeless use. For that kind of use, on a hardtail and rigid fork and me being a 210lb rider, are their certain hubs/rims that you suggest? I have heard good things about the DT Swiss 350 hubs and the WTB Frequency i25 rims. If there are other hubs/rims you like please let me know!
Thanks for the assistance, I am looking forward to getting out and off the roads!
