Surly Krampus Suspension Fork - Tell All

I absolutely love my Surly Krampus, but I cannot help but want to add a 120mm front fork. It'd make a world of difference trail riding and make something like the Arizona Trail Race or Colorado Trail Race somewhat less painful!
I have seen lots of photos of different Fox f29 forks and lefty's, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive forum consensus on what truly works and what truly doesn't. That's what I'd like to do here.
For all you 29er+ loving riders - how have you added a front fork to your bike and what are the pros and cons?

I haven't tried this personally but I can share my attempt at an answer.
Nick of gypsy by trade runs a "Fox Talas 32 factory fork (120mm-90mm adjustable travel)" and claims "The fork technically clears a 29×3.0″ Knard, barely."
https://gypsybytrade.wordpress.com/tag/surly-krampus/
The barely part means he's probably not considering mud clearance FWIW.

According to Cycle Monkey, the MRP Stage and Carver upside-down forks fit will clearance to spare.
I'd like to know if its true that the Fox 34 fit better than the Fox 32.

I use an unmodified Fox 32 and it works but its pretty tight:
Note that I usually leave it just a tad soft, if I inflate it for a very firm/fast tire it will jam solid, so I wouldn't recommend it (without modification) for an extended or fast tour.
