Shimano MT53

Hey all,
I did a quick search of the web and BP.net and found little real-world info on these shoes. Anyone have any experience with them? I'm considering them for a single speed CT trip in late summer and need to know how they perform on-bike vs on-foot.
Or if you don't, how about some suggestions that aren't the Pearl Izumi X-alp (They hurt my feet on the bike) or Lake MX100 (because they are impossible to find apparently)?
Thanks in advance.

I have finished the CTR twice with Shimano MT shoes. They are great for walking and riding. Durability is great; the soles and tops have held up very well.
