Has anyone tried the new BT 10 or 20 out? They can use AA Batts and have quite a bit more punch if you're in a situation where you need it...

A co-worker ordered either the 10 or the 20, not really sure which, but before he received it there was a recall on them. They didn't say what the problem was but that was almost 2 moths ago and he still hasn't received it yet. So, it might take some time before we here any real life reviews.

Seems like that's cutting it a bit to close to rely on getting them before the AZT...

I looked thru some reviews and it appears Fenix was having trouble with the electronics. When you put it on Turbo mode (750lm), it would only last a few minutes before automatically dropping it to High mode (450lm). The problem is not related to battery life but the electronics are showing low battery even though battery is fully energized (thus forcing the drop from Turbo to High). I think the recall is due to this problem. Hope they get it fixed since the reviews are really good for this light. I like the beam pattern and the battery life isn't too bad for this type of light (assuming it is close to Fenix's stated life). The price ($96) isn't great but not bad, though it does not include batteries or charger. You can buy two decent (i.e. Panasonic) batteries and charger for about $35-40. It is also a fairly light light (hmmm, not intended!) for 750 lm.

the BT10(350 lumens) uses four AA, the BT20(750 lumens) uses four CR123A batteries.

The BT20 can also use two 18650 in the battery case that comes with it. The BT20 can also use the battery case for the BT10 so it can use 4 AA (you can buy that 4 AA battery case separately), though not sure how that affects battery life.

Too bad the company didn't do enough R&D on the lights before the released them... Seems like they would be great lights...

Just got s Fenic HP11 http://www.fenixtactical.com/fenix-hp11.htmlLongevity ratings are much longer then the BT10, tops out at 270 lumens instead of 350. I love it. Its perfect for the type of riding I do. Almost 10 hours at 133 lumen, four hours at 270. Beam seems perfect for my use as well. Well priced at $65. Only other thing I would have liked to see is a patch cable so I coul put the battery pack in my cloathing for winter riding, but in my experience the latest LED's draw so little power that though brightness gets knocked down a little by the cold longevity remians about the same. I could always make my own patch cable, but I probably won't. I will probably be using this light on the divide this september.

i love my ld20, and am very curious about these new bike lights. i have a dinotte that takes AA, and i like it as i can run rechargeables at home, and then buy as needed on the road. will watch these as they get the electronics figured out... more light then my dinotte, and looks like better run times.

Any update on the BT recall? Fenix lists them online as in stock, and ready to ship. I've read a few reviews over at the CandlePower forums, but even the latest posts don't mention the recall, or the problem. Any news?
