Is anyone using a Garmin Edge 800 for navigation purposes? What is your experience with it? Thinking of this to kill two birds with one stone... Thx!

Its Good, but battery life is an issue, typically 8hrs, in retrospect I would prefer a GPS with replaceable batteries it also has a rather non intuitive PC to device interface e.g. it only appears to allow the downloading to the gps of one tracklog at a time, you need to double check its in the gps.

kip, a friend just tried to use a 800 on the TNGA last week and had nothing but problems. my old colorado 300 worked fine and only took 3 battery changes. battery life is short on the 800 and unless you have a on board recharging system you will be looking at a blank screen. something with replaceable batts is the only way to go for any type of long rides where a power outlet may be hard to find.
