Hi all! I am Tommi, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and just celebrated my 52nd birthday with a Norco Charger 29er; I had picked up a Norco XFR 29er Hybrid at New years, and the difference from small wheels is just amazing. Although an experienced cyclist, I am still new to the bikepacking / 29er zone. Tell me what you like about your 29er and why you love them.

Main reason I prefer a 29er is because I feel like I am riding between the wheels instead of on top of them.

The whole experience is different.  I love it.

more efficient.  traveling over objects instead of bumping into them.  plus i can switch a road set of wheels in for road only commuting.

I bought a 29er without ever riding one. The first day out of the box, I felt like I could literally ride for ever.  The big wheels just a kept on rollin'.  That is what eventually lead me to bikepacking.

My story started in 2000 when i worked and lived in south jersey for a ymca outdoor ed camp. i snagged a gary fisher marlin (26") and started commuting all around town - to and from the camp and old fire road excursions... i fell in love with mountain biking and upon move back down home picked up a specialized hard rock (26") for texas exploration and riding all over fort worth, where i lived. in 2010 i went to the bike shop and rode my first 29er - Jeff (salesman/tech) told me it would be the last test ride i'ld ever need... that bike Specialized Hard Rock Comp 29er was and still is amazing... i remember riding it around the parking lot just smiling (dorky but true). the weight displacement and ability to roll through obstacles, the lofty perch and cushioning allow me to ride longer, harder with what i think is less wear on my knees. i'm not saying that i will only ride 29ers forever but if i do replace it, it would have to be something like the pugsley...
