Right now, tools that travel with me live in a small bag. Everything in one little bag suffices, but I recently came across a guys kit that had a perfect little tool roll that I could see making life on the bike just a wee bit nicer. Unfortunately, that particular tool roll was a prototype that never went into production. Been searching all over for something similar but coming up empty. Anybody using/know of a nice, lightweight, compact tool roll that is in production and available to purchase?

Road Runner makes one with an additional snap closure. A spare tube 2.25" tube is a tight squeeze, for sure, but so far, so good.
IMO, I wouldn't ride rough stuff without a snap/closure anymore. I've had too many tools, levers bounce out of my conventional tool rolls during off road rides.

I see the OP already got a tool roll, but wanted to chime in. I use my father's old field surgery kit as a tool roll. You can get them on ebay for about $30 (including surgical tools). I kept some of the surgery items like a hemostat and some poker-type tools since they seemed useful. Otherwise, I stuffed a good deal of my bike-specific tools in there, too.

I still use a roll called the Topeak Tool Sausage. It came with me on my ride today, in fact.
It's not just cheek-ily named. It's meant to hide in the tube of an old Topeak beam-style rack.
It has a good assortment of tools and it can roll around spare spokes if I decided to take it on a tour, plus the roll has a hook and a velcro strip to hang it off of a rack while you work on the bike. Kinda nice.
