Hello,

I'm trying to justify the extra cost to myself purchasing titanium Jones bars rather than the straight alloy. The bike they'll be going on will be on TD2016. Does anyone have experience with titanium bars?

Cheers,

Matt

They make a carbon version now as well. Lighter and about the same price. Just to make it a harder choice!

Which one is going to help more with dampening all the vibrations from the road? Get that one Wink

Love these bars - (although) kinda wish the sweep angle was just a little less.

Also Jones has some aero nubbins now for the Jones Bar. Haven't tried those, but it looks interesting. Having yet another pair of bars in that area would somewhat get a bit unwieldy. I haven't experimented with putting on my own aerobars on the Jones to see how they fit yet (but oh, it's a long winter!)

Me too, wish there was a 25 degree version at about 760-800mm wide....in carbon.

I've been daydreaming about something like this. Where did you find it? I did a quick search of the Jones site and couldn't find any mention of it.

I've been wanting something like this since I put my Jones bars on!  I browsed around for hours trying to find some bar ends that had two bolts, to allow you to mount them to the loop portion.  Do it Jones!  I want one/two!
Rob English made some similar extensions for that Black Rainbow Divide bike that he built a while back.

A friend and I emailed Rob about his extensions a year or two ago. He was willing to make them, but since they were a custom build, they weren't cheap. I really do like how his setup for the Jones bars worked tho.

I have used flat and riser titanium bars since the early 90's and originally went that route for the weight savings. Truth be told though the real benefit is the compliance they provide in soaking up vibrations. Some were better than others but all provided a resilient feel. I currently have a set of ti jones loop bars on my salsa ti fargo . With the cross bracing I can tell you that they are less resilient than a typical ti flat or riser bar would be, but they do still ride like ti bars. They also look great on a titanium bike too. In my mind function trumps form, but if you can have both why not as long as you don't mind paying the price.

Found these ancient things for a song today. This is sort of what I'd like the Narwhal to be. I don't know if I'd actually run these. Maaaybe.
