Has anyone used the Garmin 705 on the CTR? If so, how did it work out, and how did you charge the battery?

I used an 800 this year (albiet only for the 2 days I "raced") but many more training rides outside the battery life spec-ed.

Last year, doing the huts from Durango to Moab, a cheap solar charger kept my 705 fully charged, but we only rode til a little after lunch each day and had plenty of sunshine to make it up.

I switched to the 800 this year since the 705 wouldn't load the full track of the CTR (despite the file not being out of the limits of the device).

And I used a griffin 3AA charger to keep it going.

It worked well.

The 800 allows you to charge and run at the same time.

Hope that helps.
