attaching a cage to a suspension fork

So I have been doing some internet research (bored and thinking about spring) about the anything cage.
Can I actually just tape the things to my fork legs or use hose clamps???  Is it really that simple?  Any tips for doing this?  I typically keep my sleeping bag and tent up front.

Yes you can just hose clamp or even zip tie or a combo a water bottle cage to most any fork.
Bottles and micro panniers that are just stuff sacks held on with straps.

While I've not done this with anything cages I have with regular bottle cages. I'd go with something solid like hose clamps. You may want to wrap the fork leg with hockey tape or an old tube or something to protect it and give the clamp a surface to cinch down onto. Just crank em on and recheck them as you don't want anything flying into your front wheel.

Cool...  I'm a DIY junkie and want to put on some kind of micro pannier rack maybe out of a plastic cutting board or plywood.  I also have the original canti studs on the fork so maybe kill a V Brake for one more solid attachment point.

I mount Salsa Anything cages to the aluminum fork on my Cannandale Fat CAAD 2.  I made up a bar that fits into the slot on the back of the cages, and drilled and tapped 3 holes.  I attach the bar to the forks with electrical tape.  3 layers of standard electrical tape, 3 places on the bar.  I have not had any issues with the tape slipping.  I didn't use hose clamps because I have an aluminum  fork.  My thinking was that 3 layers of electrical tape will fail in a crash before damaging the fork.  I leave the bar taped to the fork, and install the cage when needed.  Basically I made it look like the standard mount holes on a Salsa fork.

I should note that I don't think either of the new Anything Cages (normal or HD) have slots for hose clamps. The original one did, but it also kept snapping in half. I think you could probably figure something out with the new ones, but hose clamp solutions aren't as obvious as with the original. Please do let me know if you find a solution.
