I was just wondering has anybody ever tried Velcro on a salsa anything cage to attach it to a front rigid fork and then use zip ties to hold it from peeling away? Seems like it would work extremely well and I am thinking of trying it on a trip in September. But I'm just amazed at all the searching I've done in the past I've never seen any mention of a attachment such as this. I've seen the hose clamp method and I've seen one wrapped with black tape but never seen any Velcro.

Sounds like a good idea as long as there is a flat (concave) enough surface on the anything to accept the velcro and keep in in contact with the fork.  Might have to "pad" it out with something.
Also for the ZIP tie use as wide a zips as you can.... black if they would be exposed to UV for any time.
I like to take them around about 3x then connect them for heavy applications.  Sort of a "lashing" and it keeps the full strain off of the locking bit.

Hey that's the first time I've ever thought about using a long zip tie to go around and round like a lashing. That's a heck of an idea and I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for that tip!

Hose clamps are a sure thing.  Zip ties work, but use more than you think you'll need and bring extras.  Good idea to wrap the fork in tape (gorilla probably works best) to give the ties some traction, and to protect the fork.

Velcro has been shown to work on the bike with the Honaker Bag (http://www.bedrockbags.com/gear/honaker-down-tube-handlebar-bag). My question is how do you get it to stick to the cage. There isn't an awful lot of surface area for adhesive backed velcro to stick to on the cage. Then again maybe that is just enough when coupled with the zip ties to hold it.

I know one person who took the electrical tape trick that has been proven with bottle cages and applied it to a Salsa Anything Cage to attach it to his carbon fork. He said he took it down all sorts of chunky trails without problem.

I used the electrical tape trick once and it did work really well with an anything cage. I was just looking for something a little simpler. As far as not having a lot of surface area to stick velcro to, I never thought of that. I just figured you would peel the adhesive backing off and stick it to the back of the cage. The velcro would keep the cage from sliding down the tapered Fork on rough stuff and the zip ties would keep it from peeling away under the weight of your cargo. I think I'm going to try this on my upcoming trip in South Dakota but it will not be on rough stuff it will be a rail trail. So I'm not sure if that's a good enough example to test it out or not but we will see.

So I understand this isn't exactly what you are talking about, but here is how I solved my carbon fork dilemma. SKS Anywhere Mounts. They've got a plastic wedge with a rubber backing that gets velcro'ed to the fork. Technically they are intended for adding a bottle cage to your triangle, but it seemed to work pretty well on the fork. I added a layer of inner tube underneath first to help protect the fork and keep it all from sliding. Just make sure you cinch down that velcro TIGHT.

I have seen similar things like that before. I think 2 fish makes them as well. I just don't know how solid they would be for anything cages. I may want to carry a full 64 ounce growler on one lol!!! Don't laugh. A buddy of mine did that last fall on a gravel trip lol.
