Looking for opinions on Aerobars.  I'm planning to do some touring on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail this summer. Just wondering what has worked for other people.  Thanks.

I think pretty much any aerobar will work just as long as it's strong clamping.

Indeed I think Origin-8 has a stubby aerobar which almost looks like a bar end.  This might provide just enough support to stabalize a bivy roll if that's all your looking for.

Otherwise i'd recommend a new modern aerobar design with two separate arms.

That as opposed to the old school single bar aero bars that go out and loop around.

That said I've had an aerobar sitting here for a year and have been unable to bring myself to put it on my mountain touring bike.

I'd love to stabalize my bedroll a little since it's a bit bigger for winter, but there's got to be some better way to do it then use an aerobar.

Nitto lamp holder might work for you.

I'm starting to think maybe I should just put my wb holders up there.

They'll just provide a bit of space to keep the bedroll off the handlebar for finger space.

That's from my summer UL road touring setup. No bivy roll necessary.

Of course the only thing I'm going to put up there in the colder climates is my fuel bottle. An empty space might come in handy for temporary storage of drinks I guess.

It's a standard specialized ribcage (handle extreme cold fine, don't bounce bottles) and a little bar converter made out of aluminum from Trek Bontrager. You can find it on their website or your local trek shop.  They work with any cage.
