My wife got me a Garmin etrex Venture HC for Christmas. I was wondering should I change it for a Vista HCx or an etrex 20  or 30. I am not much of a tech geek so I need help. She says the guy at the store said this was a good unit and the 20 and 30 did not come with any maps installed. Need help fast...

I'm not very familiar either. I got the eTrex 30 and installed free maps from gpsfiledepot.com which works well.  I'd suggest posting the same question on MTBR to get more opinions but they will be less bikepacking focused...
