One thing that has always bugged me about the CDW bar bag I have is I have never come to terms with the mounting straps, etc.  I am not sure if I have it on there wrong or what...I have pics somewhere...have to find them.  It seems like unless I wrap straps around the reba fork crown (which is kinda awkward to do) the bar bag has almost no support to keep it from tipping end to end.  Anyone have any thoughts on this...pics, etc?

I even thought about making a rack of sorts out of steel rod that supports and separates the bag off the control cables and cradles it a bit.

When my bag isn't loaded and compressed down I also get the floppy bag.  What I like about the bag though is that you can compress it (roll sides).  If you have the straps on the handlebars attached correctly it shouldn't be a problem.  I had a super hard time with the straps when I first started out.  It really seems counter intuitive but makes sense once done correctly.  The straps have to wrap around the bar, then through the "D" ring and back around onto the velcro.  I don't have any pics though.  There should also be some velcro thing that you can wrap around your head tube to more stabelize the bags.  You might need to shoot him an email for more clarification (and maybe some pics).

I wish he was on these boards to answer some questions.  I know Eric is on here and doesn't push his product but will answer questions when needed.  He also has one of my all time favorite posts (Bolivia trip) It seems that if such a large portion of your target clientel posts/lurks on here you would be involved with the boards.  I love his work, great craftsmanship.  A little lacking on the PR part though.

Good luck!

Yeah, CDW does things his own way for his own reasons.  As long as you get that from the beginning, no worries.  Very nice guy and very nice bags, but communication and business are not his biggest focus apparently.

I will revisit the bag attachment this weekend.  maybe some pics too.   must be missing something.

I believe CDW already has made a "cradle" to address an issue probably a lot like yours...I believe is was a picture of JayPetravy(sp?) at the begining of the ITI last year that showed, like I said, some sort of "cradle" using maybe alu stanchions to keep the whole shebang together and off the front wheel...maybe look at an uber light / simple front rack to do the same thing...Dave something, on this forum, turned me onto a nashbar  front rack that mounts to the brake bosses...I'd be all over it if my fork had brake bosses, and I can't really afford to experiment much right now...
