I use the Mountainsmith "Day" with "Strapettes" ....It's a HUGE fanny pack with optional shoulder strap system.....Relatively cheap....Love it

I'm actually looking into getting one of those for my next trip and trying it out.  My Wingnut is pretty worn out.

I've had great experiences with the Wingnut packs. They are light, well-made, and sit well on the hips.

i just picked up a camelbak octane lr , same idea as the wingnuts in that the bladder is horizontal across the low back. it's a bit light on storage space , but i prefer to carry most stuff on the bike.
