Hey Y'all,

So My spot arrived the other day and in amongst the docs for it it suggests putting it in close range of other GPS devices can cause interference.  Has anyone noticed this?  Might make putting it in the front pocket or on your shoulder strap even problematic...

Cheers

Never noticed any interference and have run GPS on bars, SPOT in handlebar bag a fair amount.  Seems like the only time there could be problems is when the SPOT is actually sending a signal, which is not very often?

I can also report no observed problems when carrying my Garmin 60CSx on my handlebar and a Spot in my Epic Designs gas tank.  The antenna are only about 8" apart (I think Spot says more than one foot is recommended).  I've seen no GPS accuracy issues and haven't dropped any Spot messages, and the Spot tracking info comes though fine too.

Same same

My units ( 60csx and gen 1 spot ) are less than 6 inches apart. No problems yet.

I am looking forward to the day when spot functions and GPS functions are combined in the one small package. Surely the technology is out there?

It'll happen.  Until then this is the closest that exists today.
