I have an iPod Nano that I want to bring along for the CTR this year for occasional rewards. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to charge it along the route. I have a charger from Griffin that uses 4 AAA batteries and is supposed to give anywhere from 4-6 hours of play time. I haven't ever used this charger but plan to this weekend. This charger is only supposed to work on a device that already has a charge. I guess when the device is dead, not even the charger will work. Right now when I connect the charger to the Nano, the battery indicator doesn't change at all so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know if the AAA's are dead or not. Make sense? For those bring along music on multi-day rides, how do you keep it juiced? I'd sure hate to end up carrying a dead Nano and useless charger (even though they're both small).

for the ctr, I figure at times I am going to want music.  in my effort to make all things (except my edge) gas station refillable...

I found this: http://shop.sandisk.com/store/sdiskus/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/parentCategoryID.20876100/CategoryID.20876200/productID.125493100

$15 for a AAA powered music player that uses the microSD cards I already have laying around...

not to bad.

That is pretty slick. I think for CTR I'm just gonna bring the Nano by itself. It gets 24 hours off a charge. I'll just use it for those special occasions.

Might just go this route now:  headbang

A friend of a friend rides bicycles and works for Polk Audio and this is something they threw together. I'll try to find out more info on it.
