American Discovery Trail, San Francisco to Truckee

Has anyone Cycled this section of the trail?  I'm thinking of giving it a go but would be happy for any advice before I head out this week.

I'd love to hear what this route is like, particularly in the far westward side of things. I'm visiting my parents in the Bay Area for Christmas, and hoping to sneak in an overnight or all day ride while I'm there.

If you ride it soon, please let us know what the road conditions and all are like and such. Also if you are able to locate a good map, or GPX file, I'd be very interested in that.

I purchased the GPX and cue cards from the ADT website, but was somewhat disappointed. After about 2 hours of converting from one file type to another, I was finally able to force all the GPS points into waypoints, and then squish them back into a rough "track". From here, it is basically up to you to figure out which paths and roads to take between the coordinates. I'm planning on using this to ride up Mt Diablo this Christmas. There is absolutely going to be some hike-a-bike. It looks like a number of sections of 20%+ grade, and the final clime is 7.0 mi with 3489 ft of elevation gain, for an average 10% grade. Eeek.
