Next May I am planning a trip in New Mexico combining the CDT (where it is not in wilderness or without tread) and the GDMBR. Lots of info on biking the GDMBR out there but very little on biking the CDT. Anyone out there with experience biking the NM CDT?  I would appreciate your insights.

The CDT is pretty unknown territory for bikepackers.  I've ridden some in the Gila area.  Some sections near Silver City are frequently ridden... but the rest, well, it'll be an adventure.

I recommend the maps by Jonathan Ley:

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

I found the NM gpx file at the same place as the CO one http://www.trailsource.com/continental-divide-trail/index.asp

Thanks to both of you for the map links
Scott, I read your account on riding parts of the CDT on your GET explorations. Looks like some nice trail in the Black Range we'll be sure to ride. Any water sources in those segments?
