Wondering if anyone has bikepacked this area. If so, what was your route? Where did you start? Are the roads getting to the park worth biking as well? TIA for any info.

I believe the Maze district is closed to bikes. The reason is probably because we cant handle it, the masses would run out of water and die. I wonder if there is a sign at at Anderson bottom? I always thought crossing the river there would make for an interesting route.

The rules for the Maze are the same as for all of Canyonlands:  no ATVs, bikes on roads only, permits required for overnight trips.

I spent a week in the Maze about 20 years ago, mostly on foot, drove in to the chocolate drops and drove out the south end into Glen Canyon.  So, a long time ago and not by bike, but as I recall both the entrance (E of Hanksville) and the Glen Canyon NRA exit featured lots of deep sand.  The stuff in between the access points should make fantastic techy jeep road biking.  Flint trail, Teapot rock and the Doll House I recall being super interesting.  Remote and dry!!  If you've got the time it's worth the effort to haul some good shoes and set out on foot below the Chocolate drops.
