I'm trying to circumnavigate the park this November and I'm curious if anyone has ever ridden across the southern part of the park.  I'd probably be coming from Rio Grande Village/Hot Springs heading west to Castolon/Santa Ellena Canyon.  The only water to be had between the two points would come from the Rio Grande but river is trapped in Mariscal Canyon most of the points where the trail gets close.  Any comments on getting down to the water are appreciate.

Overall I'm looking to also add a 2/3 days through the Big Bend State Ranch as well ...making the entire trip 5-7 days.  Any advice appreciated.

I'm not getting any action over here, so I thought I'd try this spot and i'm willing to bring the (as of this writing) 119 lurkers along ...for the discuss or the ride as it materializes.

I've spent some time traveling in a truck camper and doing a bit of mtb'ing in the area.  More familiar with the state park.  There's some epic stuff there.  Even thought about hosting an unofficial race of some sorts down there but getting there is tough.  PM me sometime and we can chat on the phone.
