General Crook Trail, AZ Beta?

Does anyone here have personal experience riding the General Crook trail in AZ? I understand it gets overlapped by FR300/Rim Road occasionally. Would it be best to stick to the road or try to stay on the trail in areas where they separate?

I'm interested in the section between Hwy 89 and Wallace/Chevelon Rd.

I have found bits and pieces over the years. But I don't think it's all there as shown on maps. There's always the rim road so you can make it work one way or another. No idea about the exact section your talking about.
