Hey,

Just seeing if there's any information on bikepacking through and around Stanislaus and if heading there in November is a reasonable idea?

Thanks!

I live near and ride around most of the entire Stanislaus river watershed, and the forest itself has a fair amount of bike trails. Snow (if we get it - this is likely to be in your favor, really) is usually what keeps us out in November. Lately though, November has just meant cold temperatures with some rain. I take it you're looking for off-road routes? Where are you considering starting, and where would you want to end?

You know, haven't really thought about the starting point.  We'll have a car so I was hoping there'd be a trailhead(granted it hasn't been plagued by vandalism) that I could park at and complete a loop back to the car.

I appreciate you getting back to me and any information you could pass on

All trails in Point Reyes are closed to bikes.  The roads are open to bikes.  Marin County is basically anti-bike and the National Park Service just follows local sentiment.

If you do not mind riding on unsurfaced forest roads you can create an infinite number of loops.  Many of the roads are gated or barricaded to motor vehicles, so you would have the road to yourself.  Get a forest visitor map and start laying out routes.  Use Google Earth to cross check your route for potential campsites, views, veg types, etc.  This goes for almost any National Forest land, not just Stanislaus.
