I recently spent three weeks riding from Mission, British Columbia, to Bella Coola on forest service roads, 4x4 tracks, and horse trails. I discovered the most beautiful part of the world I've ever been to. I saw some of Canada's most impressive mountains - Mount Waddington, Queen Bess, and Ts'yl?os. I feasted on berries and was kept up all night by grizzlies. I saw more lakes than cars. I can't recommend this trip enough. To travel through such wilderness on a bicycle (which are mostly limited to established roads and trails) is a rare treat.

You can read Part 1 of the trip report here:

This is perhaps the less exciting part of the trip, which got me from the Lower Mainland to the real good stuff in the Chilcotin Mountains. But it was still lots of Type 1 fun, without any of the bad things that usually go with cycle touring (motorized traffic). Stay tuned for Part 2.
