I'm new here with you guys.  Has anyone ever taken the Engineer's Pass up from Lake City, CO?  How long do you think it would take to the pass?  Not racing fast or anything?  I took it once on my trials moto and I think it is 14 miles, but I may be wrong there.

From Lake City to Cinnamon Pass is about 25 miles. The distance to Engineer's Pass will be similar. You should be prepared for 5 hours uphill icon_biggrin

If you have 4-5 days, you can start in Lake City and go over one pass a day. Day one LAke city over Engineer pass to Ouray. Day 2 Imogene pass to Telluride. Day 3 Ophir Pass to Silverton. Day 4 Cinnamon pass to Lake City. Get early starts to avoid lightning. And be prepared for a lot of jeeps!!! But, they often carry ice cold sodas and will give you one if you look sad and pathetic enough....

"Oh-my-tush-a"  I am going to copy and paste that route to save.  That would be a blast and a challenge (for me now anyway, with all the climbing).  Thanks a bunch.

This is a great ride. I've done the complete loop in 2 days ... Lake City over Engineer Pass to Ouray, Ouray over Imogene Pass to Telluride took about 11.5 hours .... Imogene is pretty brutal. Day 2 I took the Telluride gondola to the top and got on Prospect Trail to Boomerang trail and dumped into Alta Lakes .... to Ophir. Did Ophir Pass to Silverton. From Silverton took Cinnamon over to Lake City.... about 8.5 hours. Day 2 was much easier than day 1. Overall a top ride that I recommend to anyone. thumbsup
